Primary School Music Teaching
One of Sarah's most enjoyable areas of teaching is primary school music classes and workshops. She teaches music in primary schools by the term and runs one off music workshops for students and teachers, with very simple and practical teaching ideas to all levels, within the music curriculum framework. Sarah also teaches music to students with special needs, and finds very often it is the children who teach her how they like to engage with music, rather than the other way round!
Classes and workshops can be focused on very specific areas of the music curriculum, or can be broad based, depending on the school’s and the teacher’s needs. Sarah can use whatever music equipment the school has already, or can supply her own. All sessions will include lots of songs, rhymes, games, movement and fun for students, with handy tips, props, books, worksheets and sample class plans for teachers.
